NoVa Travel Dames

Welcome to NoVa Travel Dames Travel Club — a community for women 50+ in Northern Virginia who love to travel, talk about travel, and want to see more of the world with other women.

I'm Heidi Parsont, owner of Fontaine Travel and founder of NoVa Travel Dames. I spent years in the recruiting world bringing people together, and now I'm combining those matchmaking skills with something else I love: travel.

​

I created this club as a place for women to connect, share experiences and recommendations, inspire one another, and maybe even find new friends to travel with.

We'll talk about places we've loved, places still on our lists, different ways to travel, and the experiences we want to have next. The idea is simple: bring women together around common travel interests and see where those connections lead.

I'll share what I've learned from traveling around the world and from my work as a travel advisor, but this isn't a group where I'm the only one with something to contribute. Everyone's experiences, ideas, questions and recommendations are welcome. You don't need to be an experienced traveler and you don't need to have your next trip figured out.

And most importantly, this isn't a group about selling trips.

NoVa Travel Dames won't exist only on Facebook. We'll get together locally for casual events, destination nights, guest speakers, food and wine, and plenty of travel conversation. And yes, there may even be opportunities for us to travel together along the way.

There's no cost to participate. Just show up, meet some interesting women and talk about one of our favorite subjects.

Some of us have people we love traveling with. Some of us don't always have someone who's ready to go where we want to go, when we want to go. And some of us simply want to expand our circle.

Whatever brings you here, the idea behind NoVa Travel Dames is the same:

There's a whole lot of world left to see. We don't have to wait for someone else to see it with us. We can find our people — and go together.
